OUR VISION FOR THE FUTURE

The mission of The Connecticut Waterfowl Trust is to educate youngsters of all ages on waterfowl and its importance in the ecology of the world. In alignment with that mission, plans are currently underway to expand the CWT and develop a waterfowl nature preserve on a 20�30 acre site along the Farmington River.

The emphasis of the new center will be on education, research and propagation, with an auditorium for lectures, laboratories and heated aviaries for tropical waterfowl. Here, you will be able to see and learn about all species of waterfowl in the world. American species will be bred for release into the Connecticut River Valley, replenishing the numbers lost due to habitat destruction and hunting.
